Kitchen

We’re already halfway through the term, and things are buzzing in both the kitchen and garden!

🌱 Garden Update:

  • Our kitchen garden is fully planted and thriving!

  • Fresh herbs: basil, coriander, oregano, parsley

  • Vegetables: broccoli, silverbeet, bok choy

  • We’ve also planted two olive trees 🌳 – exciting additions to our space!

🍽 Cooking Highlights:

  • Grade 6: Finished their cooking sessions with a delicious spaghetti bolognese lunch – they loved it!

  • Grade 5: Had fun making sausage rolls, chocolate chip cookies, and spring rolls – lots of happy chefs!

  • Grades 3 & 2: Cooked up some corn fritters, learning new skills along the way.

  • Grade 1: Enjoyed baking chocolate chip muffins – a sweet treat for all!

  • Kids in the Kitchen Program: Going strong! Students made apple or pear pikelets, building confidence in the kitchen.

👏 We’re so proud of our students for getting involved, learning new skills, and enjoying the process of making their own food. It’s been wonderful seeing their enthusiasm grow, and we can’t wait to see what’s next!

📌 Recipe of the Week: Lentil Bolognese - A delicious, hearty, and affordable meal that’s packed with flavour! Lentils make a great alternative to meat, and this dish is both nutritious and easy to make. Perfect for a cosy dinner!

Happy cooking! 😊
