A Message from the Principal

Dear Parents and Caregivers

Welcome to the Week 8 newsletter! I am delighted to share with you some of the highlights of the past two weeks.

Last Thursday, our Pre-Primary to Year 6 students participated in the Inter-house Cross Country Carnival. They showed great perseverance and determination as they completed with enthusiasm and good humour. It was wonderful to see parents and families turn up to support and cheer them on.

The Secondary Athletics Carnival has been postponed to Term 3 due to forecast poor weather conditions. We thank all students and parents for their understanding in this matter.

This week, our Year 10s participated in a 2-day retreat. It was an important opportunity for faith formation, allowing them time to reflect and develop relationships.

On Thursday, our Year 3s celebrated the Sacrament of Reconciliation at St Francis Xavier Church. This is a significant milestone for them, and marks their first formal encounter with the Sacrament; an important step in their spiritual development. We continue to pray for them as they prepare for their next Sacraments.

Next Tuesday is my last day as I take some long service leave to attend family weddings in Europe. Jason Meynell will be Acting Principal from 25 June until the beginning of next term.

As I approach the end of my time at the College, I would like to take this opportunity to thank the community for your trust and support over the past 8 months. Throughout this time, I have thoroughly enjoyed the privilege of leading the Salvado Catholic College community and know that these are exciting times to come under   the leadership of your new Principal, Ms Giovanna Fiume.

God bless.

Karen Prendergast
