Artist in Residence, 2025 - Vanessa Malandrin
The 24th April saw the first visit of our Artist in Residence for 2025. Vanessa Malandrin is a scientist and landcare specialist with a creative interest in art. She is attending St Mary’s thanks to a generous donation of her time and expertise by the Mitchell Shire Council, organised by the Arts officer, Ange Stock. During her time at St Mary’s she will be working with the Year 11 Art Making class to create a collaborative artwork which will eventually be displayed in the Art Exhibition created by Mitchell Shire in June this year.
Her introductory talk and discussion with both the year 11 & 12 class created much interest from the students who were inspired by the range of artworks and the ideas that she presented. We are looking forward to seeing the creative output this residency inspires!
