Primary Year 3-6

Welcome to Term Two!

Our classes have been settling back into routine, and you can see and hear the learning happening in each classroom.

This week we had our College Cross Country. Thank you, Miss Aldous, for your fabulous organisation to ensure yet another successful school sport event. Goodluck to all our Year 3-6 students who have qualified for Primary District Cross Country, to be held next Friday 9th May.

Congratulations to Alexis Purcell (Year 5), Anika Kingston, Maci Tennent, Isla Swales and Isla Wilson (Year 4) who represented St Mary’s College at State Swimming Championships this week in Melbourne.

Last week F-6 commemorated ANZAC Day with a Liturgy in the PLC. All students were reverent and respectful as we honoured the sacrifices of our servicemen and women.

12 of our Middle Primary students are preparing for the Sacrament of Reconciliation. This is a special time for our students to grow in their understanding of God’s love, forgiveness and mercy.

As a community we will support them through prayer, discussion and reflection. We will encourage and share our own faith experiences with them to help them feel confident and prepared for this meaningful sacrament. The children and their families gathered together on Wednesday night as part of the preparation for the Sacrament.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

Seymour Performers Workshop production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is almost ready for opening night !  We have 6 students who will be performing in this fabulous local production.

Good luck to secondary students: Olivia Hamiliton, India Bast and primary students: Livani Palmer, Taylor Black , Sarah Cole and Amelia Hamilton (Indi is abs from the photo).

A special shout out to Livani who has one of the major roles - Charlie himself .

Tickets are available from the SPW FB page and the production is over two weekend  10/11 May and 16/17 May.

Primary Assemblies this term will again be held monthly. Our first assembly scheduled for 9th May will be postponed due to Year 3-6 District Cross Country.

Save the date for our Mother's Day Gathering on Thursday 8th May. Please keep an eye out on the College socials and year group parent memos for detailed information. We are looking forward to seeing mums, grandmas, nans and other special people in our students' lives.

Have a great fortnight 😊
