Sacramental Candidates prepare for Confirmation

Over the next couple of weeks our Sacramental Candidates will be preparing to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. Last week they took part in Faith Sharing sessions. These sessions involve the candidates engaging with interactive activities that help them understand what the sacrament is, what it does, and how it helps them to grow into a loving, compassionate and faith-filled human. They learnt about what happens during the Confirmation ceremony, including how they will be confirming their Baptismal name and how significant that name is to them and their families. They even got some interesting homework that linked the gifts of the Holy Spirit to lollies they were given in a bag to take home and practise with. The catch was they had to name the gift of the Holy Spirit that it linked to before they could eat it! 

This Friday, our candidates will take part in a Faith Sharing activity afternoon at Corpus Christi Church. They are looking forward to playing some games, learning about some stories from scripture and sharing some pizza! 

Class Masses

This term each class is attending our Parish Mass on Thursday mornings. This ties in well with our curriculum focus in Religious Education around the Church.

Last week Prep attended Mass and sang a beautiful song called Care for Life. The students learnt this song because it was Ladato Si week - a time where we focus on caring for our world and shared it with the parish who were thrilled at how beautifully they participated in the actions and sang the words.

This Thursday, Grade 3 attended Mass. During Mass they shared their commitment to helping build a society where they can be understanding, forgiving and accepting of each other, especially during National Reconciliation Week.

We are grateful for Fr Ben, Fr Kasun and the members of the parish for being so welcoming and encouraging of our students.
