Acting Principal's Message
Mrs Lauren Hall | Acting Principal

I am not sure where this term is disappearing to, but here we are welcoming Winter for another year!
We have had many exciting moments at school so far this term, both in the classroom and through some fantastic incursion experiences for our students. It has been wonderful to see students engaging enthusiastically in their learning, building friendships and embracing new opportunities across all year levels.
Last Thursday and Friday we had Steve the Robotman working with all of our students from Prep to Grade 6. The feedback from both students and teachers was overwhelmingly positive, with the sessions proving to be an absolute hit! Students participated in engaging STEM based activities that sparked curiosity, creativity and excitement across all year levels. It was wonderful to see our students so enthusiastic and actively involved in their learning throughout the experience.

On Friday 22 May we participated in National Walk Safely to School Day. We had a wonderful turnout of students and families joining us for the walk to school, creating a great sense of community and connection. Once we arrived at school, everyone enjoyed sharing a delicious breakfast together. Thank you to all the families who took the time to be part of this special event.

On Wednesday we participated in National Simultaneous Storytime. We came together in our Library to share the story of Luna Roo the Kangaroo Baller. This engaging story shared the important message of self belief and encouraging students to challenge themselves and give new things a go. Students also had the opportunity to participate in a jersey design competition, with our guest judges having the very difficult task of selecting the most creative and unique design from each grade level.

On Monday we welcomed our new Utility Officer, Michael Branton, to our JPII community. Michael has already been kept busy this week getting familiar with his new role and the many aspects of school life. Michael will now be heading off on leave for the next three weeks as he and his family prepare to welcome their second child. We wish Michael and his family all the very best during this exciting time and look forward to meeting the newest addition to their family.
Reminders:
Could we please ask parents to be mindful of following all parking rules when accessing Willoughby Court at pickup time. This has recently become a congested area for our neighbours and we would like to work together as a community to ensure that everyone is doing the right thing during this busy time.
