Hi everyone,
We have started Term 4 with a BANG! The students have settled back into our classroom routines and are working hard to build their stamina, perseverance and GRIT. It has been so wonderful to be back with the students and hear all their stories from my time away, from new babies to new pets and everything in between!
Reading
We have been revising the different reading strategies we can use when we come across tricky words. Our Preps are continuing to build their confidence with sight words and develop their knowledge of letters and the sounds they make.
Writing
We have been exploring the wonderful books of Julia Donaldson, with a particular focus on The Smartest Giant in Town. We have been examining the events in the story and discussing how stories unfold. We certainly love our Julia Donaldson books !
Mathematics
Our Preps have been focusing on numbers from 11 to 20 and continuing to consolidate their counting skills.
Our Grade Ones have been working hard on reading, writing and representing two-digit numbers, as well as revising their addition strategies.
Our Grade Twos have been developing their skills in adding two-digit numbers, with a particular focus on understanding the carrying strategy. They have also been exploring arrays and different strategies to solve multiplication problems.
Integrated Learning
We have been exploring Food and Technology and learning about the journey milk takes before it reaches our supermarket shelves. The students have enjoyed learning about the different steps involved in getting food from the farm to our tables.

Please remember to send reader folders back to school each week so we can change books and keep our reading adventures going at home!

Zendaya - For an AMAZING start to Term 4! You have been working so hard to learn and write your sounds, and I am so proud of the effort you are putting into sounding out CVC words. It has been wonderful to see you giving things a go and trying your best, even when it is challenging. Keep believing in yourself Zendaya, because you are making fantastic progress!
Week 2
Rupert - For the exceptional progress you have made in both our Addition and Multiplication units. It has been rewarding to watch you take ownership of your learning, give new challenges a go and feel proud of what you can achieve. Your thoughtful nature, curious questions and interesting observations continue to bring so much to our classroom. You have a special way of making us all think, wonder and smile. We are very lucky to have you as part of our class.
Week 3
Bentley - Bentley Hose-Rea- For the amazing progress you have continued to make over the past three weeks in all curriculum areas. You should be exceptionally proud of the effort, determination and positive attitude you bring to your learning each day. I’m so proud of the way you continue to challenge yourself, build your skills and strive to do your best. Keep up the fantastic work!
