Science

Welcome to Term 2 Science! This term we are diving into a new topic – Physics: Forces, Energy and Motion. All grades will be participating in lots of experiments and investigations where students will engage in the scientific inquiry process of asking questions, making predictions, making observations, recording results and drawing conclusions.
This week we commenced this topic with students exploring different stations and activities related to various physics concepts. This was followed by a discussion and brainstorm as to what physics is all about. Students engaged in thoughtful discussion, sharing their ideas and understandings. Well done to all grades on a terrific start to science this term!
Over the course of the term students will explore different forces, factors that affect motion, different energy sources including light, heat, sound and electricity, and students will have the opportunity to apply their understandings of physics gained from the term through the planning and construction of their own physics project! Looking forward to a fun, hands on science topic this term.
