F/1

Welcome to another term in F/1! I hope you have all head a restful break, and a happy Easter. I am pleased to report that our term has commenced with lots of excitement.

LEARNING

Throughout this term, we are going to continue to consolidate previous learning, while we begin to explore new concepts across our subject areas.

Literacy will see continued focus on our phonological development and text exploration in Reading. Whilst in Writing, we will start to explore imaginative and procedural texts; their features, their purpose and how we can write them.

Numeracy will begin with more work on counting and place value, in addition to skip counting. This unit will support us to begin learning about the first of our basic operations, addition and subtraction. Our final units will explore some formal and informal units of measure, beginning with mass, length and capacity, and finishing with time.

Inquiry will see us exploring 'Change Over Time', engaging in the creation of timelines to describe how people, cultures, places and technology have changed throughout history.

Our Religion units will begin at Easter, focusing on faith and morality, and finishing with a Bible focus, looking at the structure of the Bible, and exploring the Old and New Testament.

You will receive a Term 2 Family Overview to refer back to throughout the term for a brief outline of our learning across each subject.

WEEKLY COMMUNICATION

This term, you can expect to receive an outline for the upcoming week via Seesaw, posted each Friday evening.

This post will let you know of any important dates, and remind you of our weekly routines. I hope this will help to keep all our families involved and updates in our learning and routines at school moving forwards.

SHOW & TELL

I will post our Show & Tell topics for the next 5 weeks onto Seesaw shortly.

The children's days will not change, and topics are to support them with ideas of what they might bring in to share. If for any reason the topic is tricky to work around, please let me know.

If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know via email and I will respond as quickly as I can.

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend!
