La Trobe University – Year 12 excursion
On Monday 19 May, the Year 12 VCE students joined Seymour College for an experience day at La Trobe University, Bundoora. We were greeted by student ambassadors for a presentation about the uni and then took part in a brief campus tour. Students got a glimpse of the exercise physiology lab, saw the sporting facilities (which are home of the Matilda’s), got to sit in the moot court and had a walk through of the nursing simulation labs where a few students even got to inspect the real life mannequins that had a pulse, were lifelike and used to demonstrate the importance of critical thinking, problem solving and working as part of a team to make a ‘health diagnosis.’
ACK Careers Expo – Year 10 Excursion
On Friday 23 May, the Year 10 students ventured to Assumption College, Kilmore for their annual Careers Expo. The event was a one-stop shop to help the students make future decisions related to their career options. Students had the opportunity to meet, connect, and gain insight into a plethora of over 40 Exhibitors: Tertiary study options, University, TAFE and training courses, Local Employment Opportunities, Industry Experts, Community Services as well as gain apprenticeship and traineeship information. It was great to see interactions and hear genuine queries and questions about studying or future planning.
Zoos Victoria Careers Expo
