🟦 Year 12 VCE La Trobe Bendigo Regional Pathways sessions
Since the end of Term One, our Yr 12 VCE students have been participating in fortnightly Pathways workshops (Wednesdays) with presenters Steph and Mia from La Trobe university’s Bendigo campus. The sessions focus on what life at university looks like, choosing preferences at the end of Year 12 and different pathway options at not just La Trobe, but all other universities as well. The students are hearing about what to expect after school ends and how to transition into the adult world of tertiary education. We are so fortunate to have Steph and Mia working with us and the students are enjoying the information and copious amounts of lollies provided by the team! These sessions will finish at the end of Term Two, but Steph and Mia will join us again to begin working with our Year 11 students at the end of the year!
🟦 Some reminders for VCE families:
Year 12 parents are reminded to please drop off the letters to your sons and daughters at the office asap, so that they can be distributed to the Year 12’s on our second retreat day on Wednesday June 18th. Please just hand them to the ladies in a sealed envelope with your son or daughter’s name on the front. For help with ideas about what you might like to add to your letters please refer to your emails. Thanks!
🟦 Unit 3&4 Practice Exams – September Holidays
Students who are completing any Unit 3&4 VCE subjects will be expected to attend the practice examinations, which will be held at the school in the first week of the September holidays. This will also involve the Year 11 students who are enrolled in Unit 3&4 General Maths. Families are asked to please avoid planning any holidays away in that first week (Monday 22nd – Friday 26th September). A timetable will be released at a later date, but please note the first exam will be English on Friday 19th September (final day of school). As it is a 3 and a quarter hour exam, there will be no other scheduled Yr 12 VCE classes on this day.

🟦 Fit2Drive Program
Friday the 23rd of May saw our Year 11 and 12 students participating in the Fit2Drive Program, which was kindly sponsored by the Mitchell Shire Council and presented by members of Vic Police Highway Patrol, the SES and Ambulance services.
Our students were given the opportunity to learn about the non negotiables of being safe on the roads and were involved in the real-life case study of a tragic road accident in NSW, where they had to consider the various roles of those involved and the repercussions of poor decision making behind the wheel. The sessions were interactive and held the students’ attention for the entire morning.
The students were encouraged to think about how they can make good plans and choices when out with friends and on the roads and were encouraged to come home and have conversations about what they learnt with their parents and family member, to ensure everyone is on the same page!
It was an invaluable experience and one which can hopefully have a lasting impact on our young people as they venture out onto the roads.
