Principal's message

Hello Alvie families,

As we approach the final week of Term 1, it has been wonderful to reflect on what has been a very positive and productive start to the year. Students have settled well into school life, built strong routines and shown great growth in their confidence as learners.

Next week is an important one, as we look to maintain our learning routines right through to the end of term. Finishing the term strongly helps set students up for continued success in Term 2. We encourage all students to keep bringing their best effort to their learning each day.

If you have not yet booked in for a Parent Teacher Conference, please book a time through Compass. If there are no suitable times available, reach out to the office or your teacher to find an alternative time. Conferences give insight into how your child is progressing with their learning and is a great chance to see their growth and individual acheivments.

I am looking forward to a special event to celebrate the end of term. On the final Thursday, we will be holding an Easter picnic, followed by an egg hunt and the drawing of our Easter raffle at assembly. If you have not yet RSVP'd, please do so through the link in Compass - or contact the office. These events are always a highlight for students and a wonderful way to come together as a school community. Thank you to all families who have supported the raffle so far.

I would also like to acknowledge our parent community for their work in organising the Tom Curtain BBQ fundraiser, which will be running this Friday. I am very grateful for the time and effort our families contribute to support the school, and appreciate those who will be helping to staff the event.

As the term draws to a close, I am proud of the way students have developed positive learning habits, built relationships and engaged in their learning. These foundations will continue to support them as the year progresses.

Wishing all of our families a safe, happy and restful holiday break. I look forward to welcoming everyone back refreshed and ready for Term 2.
