🌿 Seasonal Asthma, Hay Fever and Thunderstorm Asthma
Dear Lyndhurst Primary School Families,
From October to December, Victoria experiences an increased risk of seasonal asthma, hay fever and thunderstorm asthma.
Thunderstorm asthma can occur when high grass pollen levels combine with certain types of thunderstorms. Under these conditions, people are at greater risk of experiencing a sudden and potentially serious asthma attack, particularly if they:
- Have a history of asthma.
- Have poorly managed asthma or hay fever.
As we navigate this season, Lyndhurst Primary School will do our best to help keep our students safe.
Please ensure that your child’s asthma and/or hay fever management plans are up to date and provided to the school office. Please also supply any required medication, including Ventolin, clearly labelled with your child’s name.
Thank you for your cooperation and support in helping us keep all students safe during the spring pollen season.
Kind regards,
First Aid Officer
Kylie
