Principal Class Report

Welcome back to Term 4! We hope all our families enjoyed a relaxing and refreshing holiday break and that our students have returned ready for another exciting term of learning.
It is hard to believe we are already in the final term of the school year! Term 4 is always a busy and rewarding time, filled with opportunities for students to celebrate their achievements, build on their learning and reflect on how much they have grown throughout the year.
Every Day of Learning Counts
While Term 4 brings many exciting events and celebrations, teaching and learning remain a strong priority across our school. Our teachers continue to provide engaging, purposeful learning experiences that challenge and support every student to achieve their personal best.
Regular attendance is particularly important during this final term. Every school day provides valuable opportunities for students to consolidate their understanding, develop new skills and strengthen their confidence as learners. We encourage families to continue supporting positive attendance habits and routines.
Finishing the Year Strong
As we move towards the end of the year, students will have opportunities to reflect on their progress, celebrate their successes and set goals for their remaining learning. For our Year 6 students, this is an especially significant term as they prepare for the exciting transition to secondary school. Across all year levels, we will also begin supporting students as they prepare for their next stage of learning in 2027.
We look forward to a wonderful final term filled with learning, growth, celebrations and opportunities to come together as a school community.
Thank you to our families for your continued support and partnership. Together, let's make Term 4 a positive and successful finish to the year!
2027 Preps
We are looking forward to welcoming our 2027 preps for their transition sessions in the coming weeks as we prepare them for starting school in 2027.
Prep enrolments for 2027 are still open. Please contact the office for a tour and enrolment information.
At the end of Term 3, it was fantastic to see our students so engaged, knowledgeable and proud as they shared their Inquiry learning with families and staff. The quality of the presentations, displays and conversations showcased both the depth of learning taking place and the strong student voice and ownership behind it.
It was equally wonderful to see so many parents and families attending, creating such a positive and celebratory atmosphere across the school.
Thank you to our teachers and staff for the significant planning, preparation and support behind these events. Learning Expos provide an authentic opportunity for students to share their knowledge, celebrate their achievements and connect their learning with our wider school community.
Well done to everyone involved — a wonderful celebration of learning at LPS! 🧡🩷
Supporting and celebrating diverse learners
With Dyslexia Awareness Month, ADHD Awareness Month and Developmental Language Disorder (DLD) Awareness Day, it is a timely opportunity to build awareness and understanding of our diverse learners.
Diverse learners may include children with ADHD, autism, DLD, dyslexia and other learning difficulties. In a typical classroom, there may be up to five students with diverse learning needs. Some students may benefit from different approaches, targeted teaching or additional adjustments to help them fully access and engage in their learning.
At LPS, we continue to strengthen our knowledge and practices to ensure all students have opportunities to participate, experience success and thrive. Working in partnership with families is an important part of understanding and responding to the individual needs of our students.
Families interested in learning more can explore the Victorian Government’s Diverse Learners Hub, which provides practical information, tools and resources.
