The Film Crew recently took on the challenge of filming the Spring Music Concert. While the evening did not go entirely to plan, the students worked together to manage the unexpected technical challenges and successfully capture the event.
Student Perspective
Year 10 student Shashank G. reflected on the experience: “Recording the Spring Music Concert was a little challenging, as the video camera died halfway. Even so, me and my team's determination managed to cooperate with our role. Though it was chaotic, we did it.”
This experience provided students with valuable hands-on learning about the realities of live-event production, including problem-solving, teamwork and managing equipment under pressure.
The Film Crew has also continued documenting the changes taking place across the school grounds. Students have been capturing developments around the courtyard and changes to the front garden.

The VSC Podcast continues to develop, giving Film Crew students the opportunity to build skills in presenting, interviewing, recording and editing.
Andrea F. has been doing a fantastic job turning around the latest podcast episode, taking responsibility for editing and helping move the project towards completion. She also had the opportunity to put Ms Pearson on the spot during recording — proving that being behind the microphone can bring a few nerves for everyone!

The podcast is not just about the finished product; it is giving students authentic experience in planning, production, technical problem-solving, communication and collaboration.
