Student Leadership 2027
We are well underway with our Student Leadership selection process for 2027. Following a strong application process, Year 11 students have participated in interviews for both Portfolio Leader and College Captain positions. Our House Leader applicants ran activities with Year 7 students during Pastoral Group this week and will deliver speeches to their respective Houses on Tuesday during House Assembly.
It has been inspiring to see so many young people step forward and embrace the opportunity to contribute to our College community and embrace Mary’s ‘Yes’.
This week marked an important milestone as our College Captain candidates presented to students in Years 7, 10 and 11. Our Year 7 students attended to begin developing their understanding of student leadership and to plant the seed for the future College Captains of the Class of 2031. For our Year 10 students, the presentations served as a reminder that this significant milestone is now only a year away.
Our candidates spoke with confidence, authenticity and purpose, sharing their personal leadership journeys and their vision for our College. They demonstrated that leadership is not about titles or badges, but about service, character, initiative and a commitment to making a positive difference.
We want all students to recognise that leaders come in many forms, with countless examples of leadership being demonstrated across our College every day.
Leadership opportunities are also beginning for students in other year levels. Year 10 students have now received applications for Year 11 Mentor Leaders for 2027, with this process beginning in Term 4. Year 9 students will receive applications for Year 10 Junior Leader positions for 2027 before the end of this term.
Looking ahead, we are also exploring additional leadership opportunities within the Junior School. Our goal is to provide more students with meaningful opportunities to develop their skills, build confidence and grow as leaders within our community.
We look forward to sharing more updates as the 2027 Student Leadership process continues and celebrating the many students who are choosing to lead through their actions, example and service to others.
In faith, hope and love,
Ms Tina Nguyen-Hales
Assistant Principal - Senior Secondary (Years 10-12)
