Happy Holidays
I would like to wish all our students, families and staff a safe, happy and restful school holiday break. We will finish school on Friday, 18th September at 2:30pm. I hope everyone has the opportunity to relax, recharge and enjoy quality time with family and friends. We look forward to welcoming everyone back next term on the Monday, 5th October, ready for another great term of learning.
Parent Opinion Survey
There is still time for families to have their say through our Parent Opinion Survey, which closes on Friday, 18th September. Hearing directly from our families is an important part of understanding your experiences of our school. Your feedback helps us celebrate the things we are doing well and supports our continued focus on providing the best possible experience for our students and families.
If you haven’t had a chance to complete the survey yet, we encourage you to take a few minutes to have your say. Thank you to everyone who has already participated. We truly appreciate your time and your ongoing support of our school community.
Staff Farewell
We would like to say a big thank you to Lisa for her many years of work and volunteering at Yarra Road Primary School. Lisa has been a valued part of our school community through her work in both our Uniform Shop and Canteen, supporting our students, families and staff over many years. We are very grateful for the time and effort she has given to our school community.
As Lisa now heads into retirement, we wish her all the very best and hope she enjoys this next chapter. Thank you, we will greatly miss having you around Yarra Road!
Uniform Shop
From the beginning of Term 4, the Parents' Association will be running the on-site Uniform Shop.
The shop will be open every second Monday:
8:30am - 9:00am - before assembly
3:30pm - 4:00pm - after school
These will be the same Mondays as our school assemblies, so assembly week and uniform shop week coincide.
The shop will continue to be located in the same location at school and will stock second-hand uniform items. Hats will also be available to purchase from the school office.
The Parents Association are now looking for volunteers to help in the Uniform Shop, so if you are able to lend a hand, we would really appreciate your support. Please use the sign-up link below.
If you plan to volunteer in the Uniform Shop, please ensure you have a current Working With Children Check and have completed our online volunteer training video and form.
Please note that the on-site Uniform Shop is for second-hand items and selected run-out items only. All other uniform items are sourced from Spartans School World. Spartan School World orders and deliveries will not be affected and will continue as usual. If you have any questions for Spartan School World, you can contact them on 03 9070 8284 or onlineorders@spartanss.com.au.
Volunteering
If you are considering volunteering at Yarra Road Primary School, we kindly ask that you complete the online training each year and also present your Working with Children Check to the office. If you would like further information, please contact the office.

If you have a current Working with Children Check (WWCC) recorded with Yarra Road Primary School, or you intend to volunteer at our school or participate in activities involving Yarra Road Primary School students during school hours, we kindly ask that you ensure Yarra Road Primary School is listed as an organisation on your WWCC.
The Victorian Department of Education advises that volunteers should name the school where they intend to undertake child-related work on their WWCC. A WWCC can be used across multiple organisations, so you do not need to apply for a new Check.
If you need to add Yarra Road Primary School to your WWCC, you can update your organisation details online through Service Victoria.
Please ensure this is completed if you wish to participate or volunteer on school grounds or with Yarra Road Primary School students during school hours.
Thank you for helping us ensure our volunteer records and WWCC information are kept up to date.
