Foundation and Year 1
Foundation and Year 1 students have been exploring movement sequences through music and rhythm. Students have been following and repeating actions while enjoying activities including the Hokey Pokey, Chicken Dance and Musical Statues.
Year 2
Year 2 students have been developing their striking skills, learning the correct technique for a two-handed cricket strike before putting their skills into action in Rapid Fire, where batting, fielding and running all come together.
Year 3
Year 3 students have been getting into hockey, learning how to safely control and strike with a hockey stick before testing their skills in Number Hockey. Communication and working effectively as a team have also been an important part of their learning.
Year 4 and 5
Years 4 and 5 have been sharpening their basketball skills through modified games. Year 4 students have been participating in round-robin games, while Year 5 students have been working on shooting technique and using space effectively through 2-v-1 and 3-v-2 activities. These challenges encourage students to communicate, create strategies and find an open shot.
Year 6
Year 6 students have been putting their striking, fielding and teamwork skills into action through modified Tee Ball. Students have been challenged to work together as batting and fielding teams, communicate effectively and apply their two-handed striking technique under pressure.
