South Oakleigh College students shine at Eisteddfod by the Bay
On Saturday, August 9 at the Kingston Arts Centre, our talented students took to the stage for their very first vocal competitions.
Year 8 students Rubymae Moroni and Jessie Pavlovic impressed the audience with their duet of "What Is This Feeling?" from Wicked, earning second place. Rubymae also performed a solo of "Part of Your World" from The Little Mermaid.
Year 9 student Zara Chodnacar competed in both the Classical and Musical Theatre solo sections, performing "Caro Mio Ben" and "Someone Like You" as part of her preparation for her Grade 4 vocal exam later this year.
It was all three of their first vocal competitions, making their achievements even more special.
A special thank you to Ms Sifris for her dedication and vocal coaching in preparing these students for the competition.
We are proud of Rubymae, Jessie and Zara for stepping up to the stage with courage, skill and passion.

Beauty And The Beast jr. - WORKING BEE
It has been all hands on deck for our final weeks of preparation for Beauty and the Beast jr. Last Sunday, a group of dedicated parents, students and community members helped to transport and assemble our set. The Christine Strachan Theatre was buzzing with activity, with helpers erecting castle walls, gluing props, altering costumes, and some of our Year 10 boys coming in to cook a BBQ lunch as a small token of our appreciation. Thank you to everyone who pitched in to get our show up and running!

Mural Reveal
We are thrilled to reveal the incredible mural created by our Year 8 students during Curiosity Quest Week!
This vibrant and inspiring piece, now proudly displayed upstairs in front of the Senior School Student Services Office, brings our college motto — Knowledge Conquers All — to life through student creativity and collaboration.
A huge thank you to Olga for her outstanding preparation, guidance, and thoughtful compilation of our students’ work. This mural is not just art — it's a celebration of student voice, imagination, and the power of knowledge.
