Sports Report

Beginning of Term 3:

Our House Athletics Carnival took place on Tuesday 22nd July and, despite the rain and blustery winds, it was a true celebration of determination and school spirit. Students pushed through the tough conditions, competing with enthusiasm and heart in both track and field events. Congratulations to all who participated, and a special well done to Grevillea House for their outstanding performance and overall victory.

The Year 12s made the most of their final school carnival, impressing with their creative costumes and energising house chants. Their presence will be greatly missed in future events. A huge thank you to the incredible SRC team, who kept everyone warm and well-fed by running the canteen with efficiency and smiles all around.

As we weren’t able to conduct the Javelin and High Jump events on the day due to safety issues with the wind, the Monash Division Team is yet to be finalised. We wish the Monash Team luck for the future Division Athletics Day on Friday 5th September.

Year 9 HPE

The year 9 students have started the inclusion in sport unit. During this unit, we look at a wide range of disabilities, and how sport is modified for these students. Students across year 9 have participated in games such as Seated Volleyball and Goal Ball, as well as completing some Wheelchair basketball in the coming week. Their final task will be to create an inclusive sport that is catered to a certain type of disability, such as vision impaired, hearing impaired or amputee.
