Father's Day Breakfast
A wonderful tradition at the Junior School is the Father’s Day Breakfast. This will be held next Monday, 7 September. ELC and Junior School fathers are invited to join us for egg and bacon rolls and tea/coffee. These will be available from 8.15am.
Magic of Myrniong
The Junior School is opening its doors on Thursday 17 September. We will be welcoming students from other schools, who will join us for the day and experience the unique learning environment that is Myrniong. It is also combining with our Footy Colours Day, with students and staff donning the colours of their favourite teams.
A bake sale will operate at recess, and footy activities at lunch. Classroom and specialist Prep to Year 6 sessions will be timetabled throughout the day, showcasing our fabulous programs on offer at the Junior School. We will end ‘Magic of Myrniong’ with an Assembly, where visiting students and families will see cameo performances from Dare To Dream and our Chamber Singers will also perform. Pass on the news to interested friends and family that Magic of Myrniong is not to be missed!
ICAS English and Spelling Results

Resilience, Rights and Respectful Relations
The Junior School is in its second year of implementation of the Resilience, Rights and Respectful Relations program in Prep to Year 6 classes. The Resilience, Rights and Respectful Relationships (RRRR) learning materials are designed for primary and secondary school teachers to develop students’ social, emotional and positive relationship skills. The RRRR learning materials include eight Social and Emotional Learning topics across all levels of primary and secondary education:

This week, Miss Brabham and Mrs. Bell attended a two-day professional learning workshop hosted by the lead author of the program, Emeritus Professor Helen Cahill. Around 40 educators from the state, catholic, and independent sectors met at our Senior Campus to work through a two-day intensive professional learning program focusing on advancing skills in teaching RRRR. Thanks go to Rotary Hamilton, Jigsaw Farms, Southern Grampians Shire Council and Wimmera Southwest Respectful Relations for their strong support in facilitating this event.
Hockey
Hamilton Hockey semi-finals commenced on Saturday. College had two representatives in the junior divisions.
Under 10 College Vikings went down 4-1 to Coleraine Maroon.
Under 13 College Warriors were defeated 5-2 by Coleraine Gold

A reminder that all Under 10 College Knights and Under 13 College Chiefs playing tops need to be returned to Mrs Povey in the Junior School Reception or Dr Hawthorne in Middles Years. We are also still waiting for the return of the yellow-and-green shirts worn by the Boys’ Hockey 7s team.
