Dear JMSS Community,

As we reach the midpoint of Term 3, it has been great to see how much is happening across JMSS. From Harmony Day and its celebration of the many cultures within our community to Reef and Rain, which gave our Year 11s the opportunity to learn beyond the classroom, there has been plenty to look back on.

Our arts and music communities have also had a strong start to the term. The air of Impressionism brought together student artwork and music over several lunchtimes, while Battle of the Bands gave our musicians another opportunity to showcase their talent. It has been great to see students continue to make the most of these opportunities and contribute to the wider life of the school.

Sport has been just as active, with the Staff vs Student netball match and Tour de Monash getting the term underway. A big thank you goes to everyone who has participated, performed, organised or supported these events. They are a reminder that JMSS is about more than what happens in the classroom.

Looking ahead, we also want to wish everyone applying for leadership positions the very best of luck. Leadership is a great opportunity to contribute to the school and make a difference to the community around you, so we encourage you all to put yourselves forward and make the most of it.

Finally, to our Year 12s, we are now entering the final stretch before VCAA exams. Keep supporting one another, stay focused, and remember how far you have already come. There is still plenty of time to finish the year strongly.
