Honoring the extraordinary legacy of Sir John Monash

On Friday 07 August, a group of John Monash Science School students attended the General Sir John Monash Commemorative Service at the Victorian Parliament. Led by our Humanities Teacher and Student Leadership Coordinator, Ms Smith, students attended the service hosted by the Spirit of Australia Foundation. Together, they honoured the extraordinary life and contributions of General Sir John Monash and had the privilege of laying a wreath at the foot of his statue.

Sir John Monash remains an important part of our school’s identity and Australian history. With degrees in Arts, Engineering and Law, he made significant contributions across many fields. His commitment to lifelong learning and his achievements in science, technology and engineering continue to inspire our school community.

We are sincerely grateful for this opportunity to reflect on Monash’s values of leadership, service, and innovation, and to consider how these principles continue to shape future generations.
