Music Camp – A Weekend to Remember!

Music Camp 2026 was an absolute highlight of the year! Held at Don Bosco Campground from 6–8 August, our musicians threw themselves into three days of music, laughter, and community.

The camp was packed with wonderful activities alongside our rehearsals, including a wildly creative Talent Show, a Genre Swap challenge that pushed students well outside their musical comfort zones, a gripping Murder Mystery (sorry George!) that had everyone on the edge of their seats, beautiful beachwalks taking in the surroundings, and of course a classic marshmallow-roasting campfire to wrap things up under the stars.

And of course, the music itself was outstanding. Ensembles made fantastic strides in their rehearsal preparation for our much-loved Presentation Night, and the energy and commitment from every student was genuinely inspiring. A huge thank you to all students and staff who made camp such a memorable experience!

String Soirée No. 2 – Strings Attached!

Our second String Soirée of the year was a wonderful evening of music-making. Catalyst Strings treated the audience to a beautiful and varied program, spanning the sweeping drama of Grieg, the elegance of Saint-Saëns, and the cinematic warmth of Joe Hisaishi.

The JMSS String Quartet delivered a standout performance of the spectacular Tango Por Una Cabeza by Carlos Gardel, and the evening was further enriched by a host of talented featured soloists and VCE soloists who performed with real poise and confidence.

Congratulations to all involved, and a very special thank you to our wonderful string teachers, Ms Yuhka Nagai and Mr Daniel Beng, whose guidance and dedication continue to inspire our string program to new heights.
