District Cross Country

The Springvale District Cross Country event was held on Wednesday 13th May at Tatterson Park, Keysborough.  34 of Athol Road’s best endurance runners took part in races between 2 and 3 kilometres in length. Each race had about 40 students from 8 different schools competing. The 9 and 10 year-old students were first and they ran their best for 2 kilometres in beautiful, sunny conditions. Next up were the 11 year-olds followed by the 12 year-olds, who both ran for 3 kilometres in their races. It is a very tough challenge to keep jogging without stopping and our students all gave their best as they completed their races with sweaty heads and red faces.

Congratulations to all student who were selected for the Cross-Country team and for their efforts in what is an extremely difficult race.

Below are the results for all of our students. Those who finished in the Top 8 for their race have qualified for the Greater Dandenong Division Cross Country event, which will be held on Friday 29th May at Tatterson Park.

9/10 Year old girls:

9/10 Year old boys:

11 Year old girls:

11 Year old boys:

Weaab 1st, Anakin 5th, Brando 6th, Lenny 10th, Sovaramarn 15th, Jason L 23rd, Binghong 24th, Aiden H 31st

12/13 Year old girls: Somary 9th, Millie 11th, Trum 13th

12/13 Year old boys: Pony 11th, Ashton T 12th, Kha 18th, Oscar L 20th, Kevin T 22nd, Ernest 25th
