School Based Apprenticeship Traineeship (SBAT)
This year we have two students employed as SBAT's.
Ruby is currently in Year 12, employed at the Wangaratta Pump Shop, attends the workplace every Wednesday and her qualification is the Certificate III in Business. Ruby will finish her traineeship this year and go on to become a fulltime employee in 2026.
Ruby is the deserving recipient of the inaugural Glenrowan Solar Farm Scholarship and was nominated by her employer and Borinya.
Dylan is a year 11 VPC student, employed at Arboressence, his work day is Wednesday, with Wodonga TAFE being the Registered Training Organisation that delivers the Certificate III in Arboriculture. "No two days are the same" says Dylan!
Vocational Education Training (VET) Programs
The Certificate II in Salon Assistant is delivered onsite every Wednesday and is made up of Borinya, Galen and Marian College students. Anita, our trainer is a qualified Hairdressing and business owner who has over 20 years of skills and knowledge in the industry. The first & second year students participated in a Merchandising Excursion to local Wangaratta business' focusing on display methods, product rotation, purchasing and loads more.
During Term 2 Borinya students in Year 10, 11 and 12 participated in the Certificate II in Public Safety qualification, delivered onsite by Bron from Magenta Training. Our students thoroughly enjoyed being involved in this opportunity, this has provided life long skills and knowledge. Bron also loved teaching our students, with her highly praising them all.

Jason is completing the second year of his VET Certificate II in Automotive Studies at GOTAFE, he attends every Wednesday, is responsible for getting himself there and being an independent learner.
Henry is in his first year of the VET Certificate II in Cookery qualification being delivered at GOTAFE, and like Jason he attends every Wednesday, responsible for getting himself there and being an independent learner.
