Yr 10 PAT CRONIN FOUNDATION INCURSION
Last week our Year 10 students were fortunate to hear from Martine, a presenter from the Pat Cronin Foundation. Students were introduced to Pat’s story and explored the real-world impact of social violence on individuals, families and communities. Students were captivated by the presentation.
This session was designed to create emotional connection and self-reflection “This could happen to anyone. How do I respond differently?” Our students certainly were left with plenty to think about.
An important message was that while we all experience feelings of anger at times, this should not lead to aggression. Students were presented with many ways to avoid the escalation of tension, and the long-lasting and sometime catastrophic impact of violence.
We recommend families have regular conversations about the importance of walking away from violence – regardless of the circumstances – the consequences are never worth it.
