Vocational Education & Training

Students once again have been super busy with their VETDSS courses to finish off Term 1 with a bang. We wish them all a safe and restful break and will see them recharged and ready for Term 2. Well done to all Nazareth’s VET students for a successful and productive Term.
Certificate II & III in Dance
The VET Dance students have been extremely busy in Term 1, already having learnt their Jazz Solo and choreographing a group dance. They have learned about the History of Jazz and consolidated their knowledge of Safe Dance principles.
Term 2 will start with the students learning their Contemporary solo which is necessary for when they do their external Performance Examination at the end of the year.

Early Childhood Students Serve Up Food Safety Skills
Students undertaking the Certificate II in Early Childhood have recently completed their Food Safety unit, gaining valuable knowledge and practical skills essential for working in early learning environments.
Throughout the unit, students explored important legislation including the Food Act 1984 (VIC) and the Australia and New Zealand Food Safety Standards, developing an understanding of their responsibilities in maintaining safe and hygienic food practices.
They learned how to correctly store, prepare, and serve food to ensure the wellbeing of young children in their care.
Bringing their learning to life, students worked collaboratively in small groups to design and create vibrant, healthy fruit platters. These were thoughtfully prepared to be both nutritious and visually appealing, demonstrating how presentation can encourage healthy eating habits in young children.
As part of the activity, students also practiced and demonstrated correct hand-washing techniques, reinforcing the importance of hygiene in preventing the spread of illness.
This hands-on experience has equipped students with practical skills and confidence, preparing them for real-world early childhood settings where safety, health, and creativity go hand in hand.
Certificate II in Barbering
WOW. When you offer to be a model for the VETDSS Cert II in Barbering you really have to commit to the vibe. Ms Lochery did just that allowing students both from Nazareth and from other schools who study their VETDSS course here at Nazareth to practice their Undercut skills and Line Working. Check it out....
Well done to Anthony from Wellington Secondary College, I believe your line work has been a real hit!!
