Science

Foundation
Students have been having fun with pipettes and water. Last week they made predictions and tested how many drops of water could fit on a 5 and 10 cent coin. They were surprised with the results and discovered that the water molecules can ‘hang on’ (bond) to each other and even hang over the edge of the coin. They also noticed that a curved bubble of water formed on the top and acted like a magnifying glass.
This week they used the pipettes and water to separate ink from textas. They discovered green separated into blue and yellow, purple into red and blue, and that black ink was made up of many different colours.
Year 1 & 2
Students have been learning more facts about the Hooded Plover bird and Food Webs.
