A couple of weeks ago we had the wonderful Jonas Tandoh from 'Ghana Beat my Drum' visit Monty Primary.  The children participated and enjoyed an interactive school performance workshop highlighting West African culture through drumming, dance and storytelling. The joy in the room was electric!

All students have been creating their own djembe drums as a continuation of this learning. We have coloured African patterns and are in the process of finishing our drums to take home. Get excited to hear some steady beats in your household soon.
