Camp Preparation

This week, students began preparing for camp by researching different Melbourne locations such as ACMI, Sealife Aquarium, Melbourne Museum and Eureka Skydeck. They worked on finding important information including transport, opening hours and key attractions, while practising how to take notes in their own words.

Students also started creating PowerPoint presentations using pictures and key words to help present their ideas clearly. Throughout the week, they practised speaking confidently, using eye contact and explaining their slides to the class. It was great to see students building their research, presentation and speaking skills.

I'm looking forward to heading off on Monday, we will be catching the 7:14am train from Traralgon. Parents and families are responsible for getting students to the station.  I've also attached the packing list below!

Blueback

Students worked hard on their Blueback projects, showing strong planning and organisational skills throughout the process. They carefully selected project ideas that connected to the novel and created detailed plans outlining how they would present their understanding of important characters, themes and environmental messages. Students used their class time efficiently, stayed focused on each step of their projects and showed persistence as they brought their ideas to life.

It was fantastic to see the creativity and thought students put into developing their scenes, displays and visual elements. Many students added detailed features, strong connections to the text and creative touches to help communicate their understanding of Blueback. Students also reflected on feedback from peers and teachers to improve the quality of their work and continue building confidence in sharing their ideas in different ways.

Maffra Transition

Last Wednesday, Atti and Ariella attended the Maffra transition program to support their move to high school next year. They participated in a range of activities designed to help build confidence, independence and familiarity with the high school environment. Both students represented the school positively and enjoyed the opportunity to meet new people and experience different learning activities.

Saying Goodbye 😢

As Maddy prepares to leave at the end of this term, I would like to take a moment to thank her for the incredible support, kindness, and friendship she has brought to our school community. While Maddy has been an exceptional teacher aide, supporting students with patience, care, and dedication, she has also been a wonderful colleague and friend. Her positive attitude, sense of humour, and willingness to help others have made even the busiest days brighter.

It has been a privilege to work alongside Maddy and to see the genuine connections she has built with students and staff. She has a remarkable ability to make people feel supported, valued, and understood, and her impact will be felt long after she leaves.

On a personal note, I am incredibly grateful for the friendship we built in a short space of time.  From the endless Facebook reels,  everyday chronicles of her choatic life and sharing funny moments in the clasroom, it has never been a dull moment with you.

Although it is difficult to say goodbye, I am excited for what lies ahead for her. I wish Maddy every happiness and success in the future and thank her for the memories, friendship, and dedication she has given so generously.

It's not goodbye, just see ya later!

As we come to the end of the term, I would like to congratulate all students on the effort and growth they have shown across the semester. It has been wonderful to see students continue to build confidence in their learning, challenge themselves and take pride in their work.

Throughout the term, students have participated in a range of engaging learning experiences and have shown creativity, persistence and independence in the classroom. I have been particularly proud of the way students have supported one another, reflected on constructive feedback and made necessary adjustments to their learning as a result.

Thank you to families for your ongoing support throughout the term. I hope everyone enjoys a safe and relaxing break, and I look forward to another positive and productive term ahead.
