COMMUNITY CONNECT

What's on at Wollert

SPREADING JOY is a big part of the Wollert Way. We have had some brilliant Brief Emotional Uplifts (BEUs) delivered to us over the last few months that we are very keen to share with you.  Our Wollert Families are growing, with a few more staff members extending their families with the arrival of little Wollert babies early 2024. We congratulate Katya, Maria, Stacey and Jean on the announcement of this joyous occasion. We are eagerly awaiting the addition to our work family.

TeamKids Connection

Swapna, our TeamKids Leader, and her team continue to provide activities that engage our students and spread a great level of joy before and after school. Swapna will be sending out a Newsletter to all of our TeamKids participants showcasing this in pictures and explanation shortly.

If you require any care for your children before or after school or for the upcoming STUDENT FREE DAY on Monday 6th November, get in touch with the team by booking at TEAMKIDS.COM.AU.

SCHOOL COUNCIL Connection

Our most recent School Council Meeting took place on Tuesday 17th October. A key summary of discussion points included:

  • Enrolment currently estimated at 518 students in 2024 (up from around 230 students at the beginning of 2023)
  • Ongoing staff recruitment for 2024 currently underway to meet the needs of our growing population. We look forward to introducing some new 2024 staff in our November iNewsletter.
  • School Review currently underway (see Leanne's Principal Report for further information)
  • Our REAL SCHOOLS Partnership (see Leanne's Principal Report for further information)
  • NAPLAN and ATTITUDE to SCHOOL SURVEY data: A summary to be disseminated and available for parents in the next few weeks
  • 2024 PARENT PAYMENTS - student resource needs for 2024 and a discussion and ratification of agreed payments requested of families for 2024. Notification of this will occur in the coming weeks via Compass.

Our next and final School Council meeting for the 2023 school year is scheduled for Tuesday 14th November.

SENIOR SCHOOL MARKET DAY

Authentic learning is important to us and when we link this to building community connection, we love it even more! FRIDAY 1st DECEMBER our Year 5 & 6 Senior Students will be pulling a term of learning in economics, marketing and sustainability together by creating a MARKET DAY. More information will be heading home via our Senior School students very soon. Your child/ren will be able to purchase sustainability friendly, homemade goods on this day, similar to purchases made in our Mother's and Father's Day stalls. All money raised will go towards a 'legacy' item the Senior School students will decide on together - something that will make a difference to students in 2024. We look forward to sharing this day with you.
