National Boarding Week

This issue of The Boarding Buzz is mainly centred around National Boarding Week, which is well covered in the reports from the Head of Boarding and Boarding Captains.  I would like to share a couple of extra thank yous and announce the winners of raffle at The Darcy Effect stand on our Field Day.

Thank you to Mrs Teresa McAllister and the Year Twelve Hospitality students who supported the Field Day by selling coffee and collecting funds for the lamb rolls on sale. All proceeds were donated to The Darcy Effect.

Thank you to the Catering team for organising the cake for National Boarding Week and for cooking and serving the lamb at the Field Day.  As is tradition at Foundation Day, the eldest and youngest students at the school cut the Foundation Day cake.  We chose to continue this theme with the National Boarding Week cake this year with our eldest boarder and Boarding Captain Brianna Cunningham and our youngest boarder Isabel Bailey cutting the cake.

The winners of the free raffle for students for students at The Darcy Effect stand were Madison Belfield (Year Ten) and Mila Jeppe (Year Eleven) who both went home with a bag of merchandise from The Darcy Effect and Jack Willis (Year Ten) for winning the AFGRI prize of a John Deere Esky.

We also thanked our Boarding staff (Supervisors, Bus Drivers, Cleaners and Catering team) with a small gift of chocolate.

A final thank you to our Principal, Mr Mathew Irving for his support of the week. It was a great way for Great Southern Grammar to celebrate 'one community'.

We cannot tell you how much it was appreciated.
