We recently had the pleasure of hosting Mark Le Messurier for a valuable parent workshop titled “Dealing with BIG FEELINGS: From anger to anxiety, to separation anxiety and to school refusal.” Mark provided practical, compassionate insights into understanding the emotional world of children and how these feelings can shape behaviour at home and at school.

A key message from the session was that supporting children to manage their emotions begins with us. Mark encouraged parents to see themselves as “healthy life-coaches,” modelling calm, supportive responses and creating safe spaces for children to express and work through their feelings.

Parents left the workshop with practical strategies to help children navigate challenges, build emotional resilience, and strengthen their sense of security and connection.

There is a recording of the live stream from the event, this will remain live until Sunday 7th June, after which it will then no longer be available to view.

We thank Mark for sharing his expertise and for empowering our community with tools to better support our young people.

JC Life Camp

Do you like camping and sharing time with other people who like to have fun?

Here’s an idea for the school holidays! This year’s theme is ‘Indescribable’. Junior Christian Life (JC Life) is a four-day, three-night, camp for young people in years 4-6 to meet others and grow in their relationship with God.

Significant sponsorship is offered to first time campers by the LLL. If this is not your first camp, talk to Georgie as there is a smaller sponsorship available. The camp will be at Camp Kedron, Barmera. Pick up a postcard from the front office!

For more information either chat with or contact Georgie here, or check out the camp section on the blueprint ministries website.

Please note: Registrations close 22nd June!

We are truly blessed to have wonderful people share their time and love with others here at Good Shepherd. It is a key factor that helps to make this place feel like home. A big thank you to the mum who stepped into this role and served our community in this way last term, but she has let me know that her work circumstances have changed and she is no longer able to be here at the required time.   I would love to hear from others who might be able to serve in this manner. If this is you, please come and have a chat (over a coffee perhaps) or email me here

Love to hear from you soon!

Georgie
