Education Week 2026

Showcase Your School - The Past, Present and Future of Weeden Heights

Last week, Weeden Heights celebrated Education Week in a BIG way!

We kicked off this special celebration on Monday with a dress-up day with the theme 'When I Grow Up'. It was fantastic to see the turn out of amazing costumes as we showed them off at the assembly, there was a diverse range of careers showcased, from doctors to farmers and we even had some very specific career options.

On Tuesday was a reflection of the past during our Grandparent's Morning Tea, where we had a great turn out of grandparents and special people in the classrooms. We all completed some activities, had discussions around experiences at school and finished the morning with a choir performance and yummy morning tea.

Wednesday night was another fun-filled celebration with our Open Night! Each section of the school had activities to do with the past, present and future, we had some students do some performances throughout the night and we got to show off how amazing our school and the community truly is.

We ended the week on Friday with a whole-school Maths day with a focus on time, fitting in nicely with our theme.

On behalf of the school, we would like to say thank you to everyone who made last week so magical and special. From the teachers running activities and providing the morning tea, the students who eagerly joined in on the celebrations, to the families who participated and supported us throughout the week. Well done everyone!
