CELEBRATING OUR FAITH

As we begin the final term of the year, we do so with hearts full of gratitude and hope. We also look forward to the beginning of the Advent season, a time of joyful waiting and preparation for the coming of Christ. We will then turn our attention to our Christmas Appeal, inviting our school community to share the spirit of giving with families in need. Donations will support St Vincent de Paul (SVDP) and will be collected during our Thanksgiving Mass, when we come together as a whole school to give thanks for the blessings of the year and the ways we have grown together in faith and learning.
It promises to be a full and faith-filled term ahead. Let us journey together through this term with energy, kindness, and a spirit of hope as we finish the year strong.
October brings our focus to Catholic Mission Month, where we live out our faith through action and compassion. Students will take part in Socktober and the Coin Drop fundraiser, supporting those most in need around the world.
Catholic Mission is the Pope's international mission agency that supports vital healthcare, education, and spiritual care initiatives for vulnerable communities around the world.
Through Catholic Mission’s Socktober initiative, our students are invited to learn about global issues and put their faith into action by supporting children in need, living out our faith through action and compassion.
Our Focus: Supporting Children in Malawi This year, Socktober focuses on supporting communities in Malawi. In rural regions like the Diocese of Chikwawa, over 70% of the population lives in poverty, and 2 out of 3 families struggle to meet daily food needs. Consequently, only 19% of children aged 7 to 14 possess basic reading skills.
Our fundraising efforts will directly support an education project providing 800 local children with:
Access to quality, year-round schooling in safe learning spaces.
A daily meal of maize porridge to nourish their minds and bodies.
Clean drinking water through local community boreholes.
To celebrate our liturgy day and stand in solidarity with the children of Malawi, we invite all students to participate in a fun awareness day:
What: Wear a pair of Crazy Socks to school!
When: Thursday, 22nd October
Contribution: Please bring in a gold coin donation (or spare change) for our school Coin Drop to help raise funds for Catholic Mission.
Thank you for your ongoing support, generosity, and partnership as we teach our children the value of empathy, global citizenship, and reaching out to make a real difference.
Through prayer, learning, and giving, our students are putting their faith into action and helping others to build a brighter future.
Together, let’s “kick goals for good” and "sock it to poverty" this Socktober! ⚽🧦
