Teaching & Learning Update

Teaching and Learning Update

As Term 3 comes to an end, it is a wonderful opportunity to reflect on a busy and successful term of learning at Wollert Primary School.

Across the school, our teachers have continued to work together to strengthen teaching and learning, build consistent classroom practices and ensure that every student is supported to make progress.

Family Time Numeracy Games

Our recent Family Time afternoon was a great success. On Thursday 10 September, families were invited to join us after school to play numeracy games together.

It was wonderful to see so many families spending time together, playing games and building important mathematics skills. Activities such as counting, recognising numbers, solving problems and thinking mathematically can all be developed through simple games and conversations at home.

Thank you to all the families who joined us and supported this important connection between home and school.

Open Classrooms

Our Open Classrooms on Monday 14 September and Wednesday 16 September provided a wonderful opportunity for our students to share their learning with their families.

Students were able to welcome their families into their classrooms, explain what they had been learning and proudly share their work.

It was wonderful to see the confidence and enthusiasm of our students as they became the teachers and shared their learning with the people who are most important to them.

We would like to thank all of the families who took the time to attend.

Preparing for Term 4

As we look towards Term 4, all teaching teams have been busy planning and preparing for an exciting term of focused learning.

Teachers have been reviewing student learning and using assessment information to identify what students need to learn next. This work helps ensure that our Term 4 teaching is purposeful and responsive to the needs of our students.

Our teachers have worked hard to prepare engaging learning experiences across all areas of the curriculum, and we are looking forward to seeing our students continue to grow in Term 4.

Preparing for our 2027 Preps

We have also been busy preparing for our 2027 Prep students, who will begin their transition program in Term 4.

Transition is an important part of starting school. It gives children the opportunity to become familiar with our school, meet teachers and other students, explore their new learning spaces and begin to feel comfortable and confident about starting school.

We are looking forward to welcoming our new Prep families and helping our youngest learners begin their journey at Wollert Primary School in Term 4. Information about Prep Transition will be sent out at the beginning of Term 4.

We hope all of our families enjoy a safe and happy break, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back for another wonderful term of learning.
