The Year 3 and 4's have had a fantastic term in SAKG. We would especially like to thank following 'Vollies' for giving up their time to assist in kitchen classes; Marea Judd, Lucy and Chris Lane, Emily and Dan Lane, and Maddie Hendy from East Wimmera Health Service. We thank you for your support.
Week 9:
As a class we made Capunti pasta out of semolina flour. The students remarked the flour has a sand like texture compared to plain flour. Capunti are little pasta shapes that resemble pea pods and are made by hand using your fingertips. We served it with basil pesto sauce.

This week in SAKG we made broccoli carbonara, silverbeet leek and feta slice, tomato and basil focaccia.
Our team, the Smokin Hot Pots made the sauce for the fettuccini carbonara. We had to steam the broccoli first and fry the garlic and mix the eggs and cream. We also got the Yolks out of the eggs by tipping it into the shell over and over until the egg white separated.
A new word we learnt from another group was laminated- which is what they did to the pasta when they made it.
The class voted the Slice the best!
