Enrolment at Highvale Primary School
If you know a family, friend or relative who is considering enrolling their child at Highvale Primary School, please feel free to share this information with them. We are always excited to welcome new families into our school community and look forward to meeting you and your children.
Prep 2027
If your child is starting Prep (Foundation) in 2027, we would love to welcome you to Highvale Primary School.
Online Prep applications closed on Friday 31st of July 2026, with families receiving their outcomes on Monday 3rd of August 2026. If you received an enrolment offer, please ensure this has been accepted.
If you did not apply by the closing date, please don’t worry. You can still submit your enrolment form and supporting documents directly to our school office, and we can continue to process your application.
Once your application has been processed and accepted, your child will have the opportunity to take part in our Kinder–Prep transition program.
Kinder–Prep Transition
Our upcoming transition sessions are:
- Friday 9th of October
- Friday 16th of October
- Friday 23rd of October
- Friday 30th of October
These sessions are a wonderful opportunity for children to meet their teachers and future classmates, explore the school environment and become familiar with their new surroundings before starting school.
Transition also gives our teachers the opportunity to learn about each child's strengths, abilities, talents and individual needs, helping us prepare for a positive and supported start to their school journey.
Kinder Meet & Greets
Our Meet & Greet interviews will be held on Monday 12th of October. Families should have received an email confirming their allocated time.
If you are unable to attend your scheduled time, please contact the school office on 9887 8000 or Natalie Yencken at natalie.yencken@education.vic.gov.au to arrange an alternative time.
Our new Preps will officially begin their school journey on Thursday 28th January 2027. Families will also have the opportunity to purchase uniforms through our school uniform shop during transition.
Enrolments for Years 1–6
If you are looking to enrol your child in Years 1–6, the process is simple. You can submit the enrolment form and required supporting documents directly to our school office, and our team will be happy to assist you through the process.
Out-of-Zone Enrolments
At present, Highvale Primary School has places available for out-of-zone enrolments. This means families who live outside our school zone are welcome to submit an enrolment application while places are available.
Families do not need to move into our school zone to apply.
As enrolment numbers change throughout the year, availability may also change. If the school reaches full capacity, enrolments will then be managed in accordance with Department of Education enrolment requirements, including provisions for in-zone and sibling enrolments.

Looking to Start During 2026?
If you would like your child to start at Highvale during 2026, we would love to meet you and your family.
We can arrange a suitable time for you to visit our school, where you can:
- Meet our team and have a look around.
- See our classrooms and school environment.
- Discuss your child's enrolment and possible start date.
- Ask any questions you may have.
- Try on and purchase school uniforms and other required items.
We want to make the transition into our school as easy and comfortable as possible for both children and families.
Starting in 2027
If your child will be starting at Highvale on the first day of the 2027 school year, we will be holding a Whole-School Transition Day on Tuesday 8th December 2026.
This is a great opportunity for students to meet their teachers and classmates, experience their new classroom and become familiar with our school environment before beginning the new school year.
There will also be an opportunity to purchase uniforms from our school uniform shop on or before the transition day, so students are ready for Day One on Thursday 28th January 2027.
How to Apply
For enrolments, please complete the enrolment form and provide all documents listed on the enrolment checklist, including the required supporting documents.
These can be submitted directly to our school office via email.
For Prep 2027, families can also use the Department of Education's secure digital enrolment system, VicStudents, where applicable. This allows families to complete their Foundation enrolment application online and receive updates throughout the process.
