H2GP
We are so proud of our students who competed in this years Hydrogen Powered Grand Prix held at the Gippsland Regional Indoor Sports Stadium in Traralgon! Some of our VPC and Middle students came together, practiced and competed as team Flo Riders, completing 165 laps around the circuit and finishing 11th out of 22 teams. They worked incredibly well as a team, overcoming a few mechanical issues to remain in the race for 3 hours and 15 minutes. We couldn't be prouder of their efforts and how well they represented LVFLO. We would also like to thank our sponsor Aussie Broadband, without there support this wouldn't be possible!

Art
Our students have been enjoying the opportunity to explore their creativity through personal art projects while we prepare for Sally’s return from leave. Students have been able to choose projects based on their own interests, experimenting with different materials, techniques and ideas such as making slime, creating paint pours, making sculptures with clay or pipe cleaners - whatever they can imagine has been slowly coming to life in our art room.
This has encouraged students to work independently, develop their artistic skills and take pride in creating something that is uniquely their own. We are so excited to see all of the different projects come together and see the creativity, individuality and effort that each student has put into their work. We are grateful to our students for giving new ideas a go, challenging themselves and embracing the opportunity to create something of their own.

Food Technology
This term, we are excited to introduce a new Barista Taster Course for our VPC and Middle School students who are interested in developing their hospitality skills!
The taster course provides students with an opportunity to experience what is involved in working in a café environment while developing practical, industry-relevant skills.
Students are learning about coffee preparation, food safety and the importance of maintaining high standards of hygiene in a hospitality setting.
As part of the course, students will work towards completing two key competencies:
- Use hygienic practices for safe food – learning how to maintain a clean, safe and hygienic food preparation environment.
- Prepare and serve espresso coffee – developing practical skills in preparing and serving quality espresso coffee using professional equipment.
Students are gaining valuable hands-on experience as they learn to operate coffee equipment, practise their coffee-making techniques and develop confidence in a café environment.
The Barista Taster Course is a fantastic opportunity for students to explore their interests, build practical workplace skills and gain an insight into the hospitality industry. We look forward to seeing their skills and confidence continue to grow throughout the term!
