Campus Principal

As we move further through the term, it has been wonderful to see our students continuing to embrace the many learning, vocational and transition opportunities available to them. Across the campus, students are developing not only their knowledge and skills, but also the confidence, resilience and independence that will support them in their future pathways.

Our recent Hydrogen Car Challenge was a fantastic example of this in action. Our team represented the campus with great enthusiasm and determination, showing strong teamwork, communication, problem-solving and resilience throughout the competition. While the team did not win, the real success was seeing our students challenge themselves, work collaboratively and take pride in their achievements.

Our ongoing partnership with the Tech School continues to provide students with valuable hands-on and future-focused learning experiences. These opportunities allow students to explore emerging industries, develop practical skills and begin to see the connections between their learning at school and the pathways available beyond school.

Students have also been building practical employment skills through a range of vocational opportunities. Our recent Bar and Waiting course provided students with the chance to develop hospitality skills, including preparing and presenting a range of cocktails and mocktails—which, I am pleased to report, were very well received! These experiences are an important part of preparing our students for the world of work and building confidence in real-world environments.

Our School-Based Apprenticeship and Traineeship opportunities continue to grow, with a number of students now nearing completion of their Certificate II in Warehousing through Foodbank. We are incredibly proud of the commitment these students have shown and will continue to support them as they explore employment opportunities and their next steps in the new year.

It has also been particularly exciting to see many of our Year 10 students beginning course counselling alongside their mainstream cohort as they prepare for their transition to the Senior Campus in 2027. This is an important milestone, and it is wonderful to see students approaching this next chapter with growing confidence and an increasing understanding of the opportunities available to them.

These experiences reflect the important work we do at LVFLO to ensure that learning extends beyond the classroom. Whether students are developing technical skills, exploring vocational pathways, participating in competitions or preparing for further study, our goal is to ensure every young person leaves our campus with greater confidence, practical skills and a clear sense of possibility for their future.

I would like to congratulate our students on the enthusiasm and commitment they continue to demonstrate, and thank our staff and community partners for creating these valuable opportunities. Together, we are continuing to build a campus culture where students are encouraged to take opportunities, discover their strengths and have the courage to imagine what comes next.
