Bridging Group News

Our Bridging students have continued to expand their knowledge of countries and continents through their literacy learning. Students have been creating their own dream holiday experiences while learning about the different cultures, traditions, and customs that are unique to destinations around the world. This learning has encouraged students to recognise the diversity of cultures and the features that make each country and destination unique. Students have also strengthened their research and comprehension skills by gathering information, identifying key details, and sharing their learning and discoveries with their peers.

Students have further developed their skills by planning and writing about their chosen holiday destinations, incorporating descriptive language and new vocabulary to bring their ideas to life. They have focused on presenting information in a clear and organised way, developing well-structured sentences, and adapting their communication to suit their intended audience. Regular class discussions and opportunities to present their ideas have also supported students in developing their confidence when speaking, listening to others, contributing to conversations, and respectfully responding to different ideas and perspectives.

This term, our Bridging students in Numeracy have been developing their understanding of time, speed and distance. Through a range of practical activities, hands-on learning experiences and real-life problem-solving tasks, students have been building their skills in reading and measuring time, calculating speed and exploring how distance can be measured and compared. 

Students have been encouraged to apply their mathematical knowledge to different situations, helping them see how these concepts are used in everyday life. 

It has been fantastic to see students approaching new challenges with enthusiasm, giving things a go and building their confidence as they continue to develop their numeracy skills. We are very proud of the progress and effort shown throughout the term. Well done, everyone!
