SSV Division Tennis Finals

Perfect conditions greeted staff and students on Wednesday March 19th at the SSV Wellington Tennis Finals. With the sun shining overhead, Traralgon’s Tennis Club’s blue plexicushion courts looked immaculate on arrival, with five CCS teams taking the court with high hopes for a successful and enjoyable day.  Despite our best efforts, Lavalla Catholic College’s managed to hold off both of our Year 9/10 Girls teams.

Our Year 8 Boys put in three brilliant matches across the day, defeating Traralgon College, Maffra Secondary College and Lavalla CC. Well done to Will Bertino, Josh O’Brien, Jonah Ingram, Ed Ronchi and Kalen Szarek. The team will now progress to the SSV Gippsland Finals in the first week back of Term 2. The Year 8s will also be joined by our Year 7s at this event.

Following another school’s withdrawal from competition, our Year 7 players were able to play a round robin event across the day. Congratulations to Henry Grattan, Kailin Smith, Teddy Crouch and Bruce Sears who will represent CCS at the Gippsland Finals next term on Thursday May 24th.

A big thank you to Mr Peter Ray for support of this team on the day.
