Year 6 and Prep Buddies Learning Italian Together!
Our Year 6 and Prep Buddy Program continues to be a wonderful opportunity for students to learn and grow together. During Italian lessons, the Year 6 students have been working alongside their Prep buddies to explore the Italian language through a variety of engaging games, songs, and oral language activities.
The older students have taken on leadership roles, helping their younger buddies practise Italian greetings, colours, numbers, days of the week, and simple conversational phrases. Through interactive games and songs, the Prep students have been developing their confidence in speaking Italian while having fun with their Year 6 buddy.
These buddy sessions not only support language learning but also help build positive relationships across year levels. The Year 6 students demonstrate patience, kindness, and responsibility as they guide and encourage their younger buddies, while the Prep students enjoy learning from positive role models.
It has been wonderful to see students actively participating, singing along, practising new vocabulary, and celebrating their learning together. The smiles, laughter, and enthusiasm shown during these sessions highlight the many benefits of collaborative learning and help create a strong sense of community within our school.

The Arts
Semester One has been a wonderful and creative journey in The Arts for our Prep to Year 6 students. Throughout the semester, students have enjoyed exploring the styles of Pablo Picasso and Sidney Nolan, creating their own unique artworks and experimenting with a variety of materials and techniques.
It has been a joy to see students so engaged, enthusiastic and willing to express their creativity. They have taken great pride in their work, supported one another and celebrated each other’s achievements. We are incredibly proud of their imagination and effort and look forward to another exciting semester of creativity and artistic discovery!
During Performing Arts, students sang their way through Semester One with a wonderful mix of familiar favourites and exciting new songs. They enjoyed role-playing different situations, exploring the work of famous composers and discovering the art of mime.
It has been fantastic to see students enthusiastically participate, build their confidence and express themselves creatively. We are proud of their efforts and look forward to more fun and engaging experiences in Performing Arts during Semester Two.
Sport/Physical Education:
Whole School Athletics Day
Our Whole School Athletics Day took place on Friday June 12 at the Williamstown Athletics Club! Students were able to enthusiastically perform their skillsets across many events and embraced the opportunity to challenge themselves. Students were cheering and encouraging their fellow house colour teammates and peers which was a fantastic sight.
With the final results now being tallied and announced, it was was a very tight finish!
1st - Green House: 5844 points
2nd - Red House: 5818 points
3rd - Blue House: 5131 points
4th - Yellow: 425 points
Well Done to every individual involved and we thank all volunteers and helpers who contributed enormously on events and their support. It was terrific to see the Grade Preps enjoy their first Athletics Day Carnival and the continued support of their Year 6 buddies!
The House Captains continued to do a great job in leading their colours and contributed for another fun day on the calendar.
