ENGLISH: This term, students have been actively engaged in a variety of rich literacy experiences across reading and writing. 

Boggi students explored The Year the Maps Changed by Danielle Binks, developing their understanding of character and theme through imaginative character profiles and written extracts. 

Juna students studied Holes by Louis Sachar, creating short imaginative pieces with a focus on crafting engaging settings and orientations. 

Mundjee students explored two texts, Black Cockatoo and Dirrarn, completing character analyses to deepen their understanding of characters and their development. 

All students participated in the mid-year DIBELS assessment, with many demonstrating impressive growth in their reading skills. 

Across all groups, students have strengthened their ability to analyse texts and express their ideas creatively and clearly. 

MATHS: Our students have been actively engaging in a wide range of mathematical concepts across the classes this term. 

Juna students have been tackling some challenging concepts, including equations, Pythagoras’ Theorem, exponent laws, and congruence. It has been fantastic to see students developing their problem-solving skills and confidence when working through increasingly complex tasks. 

Boggi students have been building their understanding of algebra, exponent laws and linear equations, while also exploring data analysis. They have particularly enjoyed designing surveys, collecting data, and analysing their findings, making real-world connections to their learning. 

Mundjee students have been focusing on key foundational skills, including 3D objects, fractions, decimals and percentages, as well as probability and patterns. Students are strengthening their understanding and applying these skills in a variety of engaging ways. 

We are very proud of the growth and enthusiasm for learning that is evident across all classes. 

MACQLIT: This term, we have been running three MacqLit groups, and the growth we are seeing in our students has been incredibly encouraging. Students are building confidence in their reading, developing stronger decoding skills, and becoming more independent learners. It has been wonderful to see their persistence and pride as they tackle texts that once felt challenging. 

A highlight has been the noticeable shift in student attitudes towards reading. One student shared, “Now I can read, I actually like reading!” — a powerful reflection of the impact this program is having. 

We are very proud of the effort our students are showing and look forward to continuing to support their reading journey.
