Upcoming Dates!
Join us for a special Winter Solstice celebration directly after school, as we gather in the community spaces and Yakai Baring to mark the winter season and connect as a community. This warm and cozy event is a collaboration among CET, OSHC and the Friends of Yakai Baring- and we’ve got some wonderful ideas in the making!
Inspired by the Winter Solstice, the longest night of the year, and Waring (Wombat Season) in the Wurundjeri seasonal calendar, the event will feature lantern making, fire pits, damper and marshmallow roasting, warm drinks, planting activities, student performances, poetry and storytelling with Uncle Trev.
More details and volunteer opportunities will be shared soon.
If you’d like to be involved in planning the event, please contact the CET team via the email below.
Plans for this year’s Annual Trivia Night on Saturday 1 August are well underway, and we’re excited to share a few updates.
As many families may know, our much-loved venue of many years, Estonia House, has sadly been sold and is no longer available. The good news is that we’re putting the finishing touches on an exciting new venue that we think will make for a fantastic night out.
We’re also finalising this year’s theme shortlist, so keep an eye out for theme voting soon. Once the winner is announced, you’ll have plenty of time to start planning your costumes. Dressing up is never compulsory, but it’s always part of the fun!
Ticket sales and table bookings will be opening soon, so start thinking about your team.
While a few things will look different this year, we’re working hard to keep everything our Trivia Night is known for — plenty of laughs, friendly competition, great fundraising, raffles, auctions, and of course, lots of dancing.
We can’t wait to share more details soon!

(Families are very welcome to be involved in both teams.)
** All volunteers at the school need a valid Working With Children’s Check - click this link to apply if you don’t have one. It’s fairly straightforward and free for volunteers**
