Sorry Day

in Foundation

During Sorry Day activities in Foundation, students participated in a “tuning in” activity where a classmate described their outfit, explaining that they were wearing a red dress with a yellow waistband and a black top. The class connected these colours to the Aboriginal flag and discussed the meaning behind the flag’s colours. Students also explored symbols connected to the water cycle and their Inquiry's Big Idea, identifying images such as clouds and rain. Students began developing a deeper understanding of how symbols can represent ideas. The activity encouraged curiosity, communication, and exploration.
