Our Chinese kindy classes have been learning basic strokes and Chinese numbers. Students are actively involved in a variety of activities and are showing great enjoyment in learning Chinese.
Stage 1 Chinese students are recognising and reproducing oral language to interact in role plays, where they introduce themselves and their family members.
Stage 2 Chinese students are beginning to use vocabulary and modelled phrases and are incorporating elements of simple grammar patterns into structured sentences to create texts.
Stage 3 Chinese students enjoyed learning traditional Chinese poems. They demonstrated a deep understanding of the poems through drawings, translations, descriptions, and writing to express their own ideas.
Year 6 Spanish LOTE students played traditional Latin American games, including:
- Saltar la cuerda (skipping rope)
- El Luche (hopscotch)
- Juego de manos – El Marinero (hand games – The Sailor)
- La Guaraca (duck, duck, goose)
Stage 3 Arabic students are working collaboratively in groups to research and create posters about Arabic Folktales.
Trough language learning, all students have shown appreciation and respect for the cultures, beliefs, and values of others.
