Stage 3 News

Year 5
Years 5 has had a busy Term 1. They have been working on fractions, 24 hour time, length and perimeter in Maths, as well as reading some Aboriginal texts in English. Classes have been writing and producing podcasts and learning about the culture of First Nations People.
In History, they have been studying life in the colonies after the first settlement of Europeans, researching famous Australians from that time and comparing what life was like for the various groups of people living here then.
In Science, Year 5 has been deepening their knowledge of forces and how they affect all areas of our lives. Some classes have been using robotics to assist their knowledge in this area.
Various artworks have been created and displayed in the Year 5 rooms. Some work has also been used as part of the displays for Harmony Day.
We have participated in the swimming carnival and cross-country carnival, as well as trialled for winter PSSA teams.
We hope everyone has a wonderful and safe holiday.
