What's been happening in Art?

Our Self Portraits are finished - Yay! They all look AMAZING. Here is your sneak peek at the wonderful collection of portraits:

We have begun our new unit of Sculpture for Term 3. All of the students and myself are quite excited for this unit as we can get our hands dirty and be as creative as we please. We began the unit with a wander down to the Loddon River to collect inspiration from objects and animals we would see as we walk along the riverbanks. Students drew inspiration from a variety of things, from purple periwinkle flowers to slimy slugs that live underneath the rocks in the garden. It was great to see the students interpret the activity. We will be using Playdough over the new few lessons to create our sculptures before it is time to use the clay!
